EVFR
EVFR.136-NKProtaş EVFR series fluorescent fixtures have Ex d flameproof (Ex-proof) protection type and are classified as II 2G Ex d IIC T6 Gb & II 2D Ex tb IIIC T85ºC Db IP66.
Ex-proof Fluorescent Fixtures
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are special fixtures designed for use in explosive environments. These fixtures can be used in hazardous areas containing flammable gases, vapors, liquids, or dust.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures vary according to protection classes. The most common protection classes are known as Ex d, Ex e, and Ex n. Protaş products are of the Ex d flameproof type.
Fixtures in the Ex d protection class are covered with explosion-proof enclosures. These enclosures prevent the entry of gases and vapors that could cause an explosion, protecting the parts inside the fixture.
Fixtures in the Ex e protection class are made using comprehensive sealing and gasketing techniques. This ensures that the fixture prevents the internal parts from contacting flammable environments.
Fixtures in the Ex n protection class are made of high-resistance materials that protect electrical parts without using explosion-proof shells or enclosures.
Some features of ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are as follows:
- They can operate over a wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C).
- They have a high protection level (IP65 and above).
- They provide easy installation and maintenance.
- They are long-lasting.
- They are energy efficient with low power consumption.
- Various lengths, powers, and lamp types are available.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are commonly used in industrial facilities such as oil refineries, chemical plants, mines, ships, furnaces, storage tanks, and other explosive environments.
If you need more detailed information about ex-proof fluorescent fixtures, it is recommended to contact an expert electrical engineer or industrial lighting specialist.
Production Principle
In the normal operation of fluorescent lamps, the part that produces the arc is the STARTERs. As with incandescent filament lamps, the surface temperature of the tube is also an issue. In Protaş fluorescent lamps, the starter is enclosed in a special protective casing and placed inside a special tube that is resistant to pressure and shocks in the fluorescent tube, thus the surface temperature problem is eliminated. Protaş exproof fluorescent lamps choose high quality for these specially manufactured products.
Protaş fluorescent lamps have the starter and fluorescent tube separately placed inside a d-type protected enclosure. Recently, since a capacitor is also requested to correct the power factor (cosα), the starter and capacitor are manufactured together inside the same d-type enclosure. The Protaş fluorescent tube is placed inside a specially manufactured glass tube that is resistant to pressure. This tube has been tested and has a certificate proving its pressure resistance. Since it is shaped as a round tube, it is easier to manufacture compared to a glass bulb and is more resistant to pressure and shocks. D-type protected fluorescent fixtures are more common in Turkey.
