EVFRL.1X-NK
EVFRL.236-NKProtaş EVFR series fluorescent fixtures have Ex d flameproof (Ex-proof) protection type and are classified as II 2G Ex d IIC T6 Gb & II 2D Ex tb IIIC T85ºC Db IP66.
Ex-proof Fluorescent Fixtures
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are special fixtures designed for use in explosive environments. These fixtures can be used in hazardous areas containing flammable gases, vapors, liquids, or dust.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures vary according to protection classes. The most common protection classes are known as Ex d, Ex e, and Ex n. Protaş products are flameproof with Ex d type protection.
Fixtures with Ex d protection class are enclosed in explosion-proof enclosures. These enclosures prevent gases and vapors that could cause explosions from entering and protect the internal components of the fixture.
Fixtures with Ex e protection class are manufactured using comprehensive sealing and gasketing techniques. Thus, the fixture prevents the internal components from contacting flammable environments.
Fixtures with Ex n protection class are made of highly resistant materials protecting electrical parts without using protective shells or enclosures against explosions.
Some features of ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are as follows:
- They can operate in a wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C).
- They have a high protection level (IP65 and above).
- They provide easy installation and maintenance.
- They have a long service life.
- They are energy-efficient with low power consumption.
- Various lengths, power ratings, and lamp types are available.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are commonly used in industrial facilities such as petroleum refineries, chemical plants, mines, ships, furnaces, storage tanks, and other explosive environments.
If you need more detailed information about ex-proof fluorescent fixtures, it is recommended to contact an expert electrical engineer or an industrial lighting specialist.
Production Principle
The part that produces the arc during the normal operation of fluorescent lamps is the STARTER. Like in incandescent filament lamps, the surface temperature of the tube is also a concern. In Protaş fluorescent lamps, the starter is enclosed in a special protective and pressure- and impact-resistant tube within the fluorescent tube, thus eliminating the surface temperature problem. Protaş ex-proof fluorescent lamps have chosen high quality for these specially produced products.
Protaş fluorescents place the starter and fluorescent tube separately inside a d-type protected enclosure. Recently, since a capacitor is also requested to correct the power factor (cosα), the starter and capacitor are manufactured together inside the same d-type enclosure. The Protaş fluorescent tube is placed inside a specially manufactured glass tube that is pressure resistant. This tube has been tested and certified to prove its pressure resistance. Being round-tube shaped, it is easier to manufacture compared to a glass bulb, and it is more resistant to pressure and impacts. D-type protected fluorescent fixtures are more common in Turkey.
