EVFR
EVFRL.218-NKProtaş EVFR series fluorescent luminaires have Ex d flameproof (Ex-proof) protection type and are classified as II 2G Ex d IIC T6 Gb & II 2D Ex tb IIIC T85ºC Db IP66.
Ex-proof Fluorescent Fixtures
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are specially designed fixtures intended for use in explosive environments. These fixtures can be used in hazardous areas where flammable gases, vapors, liquids, or dust are present.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures vary according to protection classes. The most common protection classes are known as Ex d, Ex e, and Ex n. Protaş products are Ex d type flameproof.
Fixtures in the Ex d protection class are enclosed in explosion-proof enclosures. These enclosures prevent the entry of gases and vapors that could cause explosions, protecting the internal parts of the fixture.
Fixtures in the Ex e protection class are manufactured using extensive sealing and gasketing techniques. This ensures that the parts inside the fixture do not come into contact with explosive environments.
Fixtures in the Ex n protection class are made from high-resistance materials that protect electrical parts without using protective shells or enclosures against explosions.
Some features of ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are as follows:
- They can operate in a wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C).
- They have a high protection level (IP65 and above).
- They provide easy installation and maintenance.
- They are long-lasting.
- They are energy efficient with low energy consumption.
- Various lengths, wattages, and lamp types are available.
Ex-proof fluorescent fixtures are widely used in industrial facilities such as oil refineries, chemical plants, mines, ships, ovens, storage tanks, and other explosive environments.
If you need more detailed information about ex-proof fluorescent fixtures, it is recommended to contact an expert electrical engineer or an industrial lighting specialist.
Production Principle
In the normal operation of fluorescent lamps, the part that produces the arc are the STARTERs. As with incandescent lamps, the surface temperature of the tube is also an issue. In Protaş fluorescent lamps, the starter is placed inside a special protective and pressure- and impact-resistant tube inside the fluorescent tube, thus eliminating the surface temperature problem. Protaş ex-proof fluorescent lamps have chosen high quality for the special production of these products.
Protaş fluorescents place the starter and fluorescent tube separately inside a d-type protected enclosure. Recently, since a capacitor has also been requested to correct the power factor (cosα), the starter and capacitor are manufactured together in the same d-type enclosure. The Protaş fluorescent tube is placed inside a specially manufactured glass tube that is resistant to pressure. This tube has been tested and holds a certificate proving its pressure resistance. Being in a round tube shape, it is easier to manufacture compared to a glass bulb and is also more resistant to pressure and impacts. D-type protected fluorescent fixtures are more common in Turkey.
